Tamarac Veterans Day Ceremony 2023. {City of Tamarac]
The City of Tamarac invites residents and visitors to its annual Veterans Day Ceremony to pay tribute to veterans’ service, courage, and patriotism.
The event will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m., at Veterans’ Memorial Park, located at 7825 Southgate Blvd., and is free to the public.
This year’s ceremony features the Tamarac Fire Rescue Honor Guard presenting the colors and Chantal Deshaies performing the national anthem. Local officials will deliver remarks before keynote speaker Lieutenant Commander Adonica M. Johnson, a distinguished U.S. Navy veteran, takes the stage.
Lt. Cmdr. Johnson enlisted in the Navy in 1996 and has since served on several ships, including the USS John C. Stennis, where she deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2001.
With a career spanning almost three decades, her service includes assignments on the USS Ronald Reagan, USS Boxer, USS Makin Island, and USS Abraham Lincoln. Lt. Cmdr. Johnson now serves in the Intelligence Plans and Strategy office at the United States Southern Command in Doral, Florida.
A significant part of the ceremony will be unveiling the newest installment on Tamarac’s Veterans Honor Wall, which celebrates 100 hometown heroes for their service. Additionally, the Tamarac Veterans Affairs Committee will be on-site collecting donations of non-perishable food, toiletries, socks, and hand towels to assist homeless veterans in need.
Parking for attendees will be available at Veterans’ Memorial Park. City of Tamarac offices will be closed on Nov. 11 during Veterans Day.

My Father was a WW2 Veteran who lived in Tamarac at the end of his life. He's in Arlington Cemetary and I was able to get my Mother's Remains with him, but it wasn't easy. So, I guess I should try to get him on Tamarac Wall? Who cares nobody cared much about him when he was alive, and nobody cares about me as a Navy Cold War & Desert Storm Veteran. I walked into the Tamarac City Hall to ask about help with buying house for vets and got "zero" information because there is no help. Tamarac is Zero
Contact Barbara, Historian Dept call city hall, I have her private # and I do not want to post it on here.. she will help get your father on the wall in Tamarac, she is so helpful. You need proof of address, go to Broward County taxes and research his name and send her the address, and you need DD 214. Which took awhile to get but I did for my dad and Uncle
