Brad Marchand.
Hockey fans and ice cream lovers alike have a reason to celebrate on Friday when NHL star Brad Marchand trades his skates for a scoop and steps behind the counter at the Dairy Queen in Sunrise.
On June 20 at 11 a.m., Marchand will serve up free Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Blizzard Treats — his personal favorite — to fans at the DQ located at 3403 N Hiatus Road, Suite 1. But this isn’t just a giveaway; it’s a celebration of a sweet playoff superstition that became legend.
During the team’s recent magical playoff run, Marchand and his teammates developed a tasty ritual: visiting Dairy Queen before key games. The result? The team remained undefeated after every pre-game Blizzard stop.
To honor the winning streak and his devotion to the iconic treat, Dairy Queen will temporarily rename the Blizzard “The Brad Blizzard” for the day. Guests can enjoy the same dessert that fueled one of hockey’s most memorable playoff runs — now served by Marchand himself.
The NHL star will be behind the counter scooping Blizzards, chatting with fans, and available for interviews during the one-day event. It’s a rare chance for fans to meet the hockey great in an unexpected setting — one where the ice is always welcome.
