American Heritage Schools’ Pre-Medical Program celebrated its 25th year of bringing hope and joy to pediatric cancer patients and their families at the Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health Medical Center.
Through its annual series of events, the program has raised over $1 million, funding vital improvements like two pediatric playrooms that provide young patients with a safe and cheerful space to play.
The milestone year included the beloved Superhero Party, where children battling cancer embraced their inner heroes while writing letters to Santa and engaging in uplifting activities.
The celebration continued with the 7th Annual Pre-Med Gala, a black-tie evening of dining, dancing, and silent auctions that set a record by raising $41,000.
The festivities culminated in the 25th Annual Holiday Party, where students spent $500 on gifts for each of the 17 children, delivering more than 160 presents.
The day featured activities like gingerbread cookie decorating, ornament making, games, and crafts, with appearances by cheerleaders from the Florida Panthers, Stanley the Panther, and hospital leadership. A highlight of the event was a moving acapella performance by the American Heritage Schools’ choir, including Noah Duro Andre’s solo rendition of “Oh Holy Night.”
“The courage of these young patients inspires our students,” said Dr. Carlos Pulido, director of the Pre-Medical Program. “These events allow them to connect with the children, share joy, and offer support to kids who need it the most.”
Over the past 25 years, more than 500 students have participated in the Pre-Medical Program’s initiative, helping to create meaningful moments for families.
