Inspectors from the Florida Department of Agriculture uncovered 53 violations during an inspection of a Coral Springs Key Food Supermarket.
According to the inspection report, during an August 20 inspection, Key Supermarket at 10301 Royal Palm Boulevard inspectors discovered multiple food and safety compliance issues, including improperly stored knives, inadequate handwashing practices, and unsanitary conditions, such as grime buildup and flies near produce.
Inspectors also noted that employees needed to clean and sanitize utensils properly, and handwashing sinks were often blocked. Temperature control was also lacking, with cut watermelon and cooked meats stored at unsafe temperatures, resulting in stopped sales.
The report’s details about inspectors discovering cases of raw chicken on the prep room floor were perhaps most concerning.
According to the report, Key Food must correct these significant violations by September 3 to ensure compliance with health standards.
