While October 1 marked National Black Dog Appreciation Day, at the Humane Society of Broward County (HSBC), every day is National Dog Day. Whether black, tan, white, brown, spotted, or striped, there are always wonderful dogs waiting for loving homes.
Among them is Zoey, a beautiful Labrador mix ready to find her forever family.
Just over a year old, Zoey was one of 15 dogs fortunate enough to be transferred from a shelter in Madison County, Florida, just a day before Hurricane Helene swept through, leaving a path of destruction.
The shelter where Zoey and her canine companions had been staying only had outdoor kennels, making it vulnerable to flooding. Thankfully, Zoey and the others were brought to safety at HSBC, where they’re now waiting for the right families to adopt them. Sweet and outgoing, Zoey is eager to be spoiled and loved. Could you be the one to make her wish come true?
If dogs aren’t your calling, maybe you’ll fall in love with little Beyonce, an 11-week-old kitten with plenty of charm. Named after the iconic singer, this adorable feline is ready to dance and purr into your heart.
When she first arrived at the shelter, Beyonce weighed just 1.3 pounds and was too small for adoption. She and her siblings spent time in a volunteer foster home, where they grew strong and healthy. Now, she’s ready to find her own loving family.
To meet Zoey (ID 689030), Beyonce (ID 687504), or any other animals hoping for adoption, visit the Humane Society of Broward County’s website at humanebroward.com and complete a pre-adoption application. The HSBC adoption kennels are open daily at 11 a.m.; no appointments are necessary. For any questions, you can call 954-989-3977 ext. 6.
