This is a summary of Tamarac crime events through July 29, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud—All Other was reported on 07/23/2024. The victim wanted to report that their credit was used to make online purchases.
Theft
A victim of Theft—All Other was reported on 07/29/2024. The total estimated loss was $900. The victim wanted to report an Uber Driver who allegedly stole her phone.
Walgreens was the victim of Theft—retail / Shoplifting at 8790 W McNab Road, which was reported on 07/23/2024. The total estimated loss was $429. Three unknown females stole several items from the above-listed business.
Old Time Pottery was the victim of Theft—retail / Shoplifting at 4021 W Commercial Blvd, which was reported on 07/27/2024. The total estimated loss was $199.
7-11 was the victim of Theft—retail / Shoplifting at 4999 N State Road 7, which was reported on 07/24/2024.
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 07/24/2024. The vehicle, a Gray Kia Optima, was stolen from the plaza.
A victim of Theft – All Other was reported on 07/25/2024. The victim wanted to report that an unknown subject he met on Grinder stole his wallet.
A victim of Auto Theft, a 2023 Jeep Gladiator, was stolen and was reported on 07/26/2024.
Weapons Violations
A victim of Weapons Violations – All Others on Nob Hill Road was reported on 07/24/2024. The offender was walking around a neighborhood with a firearm after police received a shots fired call.
Burglary
Smoke Shop was the victim of a Burglary at 6728 N University Drive, which was reported on 07/25/2024. The total estimated loss was $3,000. Two unknown subjects threw a rock through the front glass door of the business and removed the THC flower.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 07/26/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,980. An unknown subject(s) entered a vehicle via an unknown means and removed items with a total value of $1980.
Walgreens was the victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting at 8790 W McNab Road was reported on 07/25/2024. The total estimated loss was $756. Two unknown females entered the store and stole various items.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 07/25/2024. The total estimated loss was $710. A gun was stolen from a vehicle.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 07/24/2024. The total estimated loss was $226. An unknown suspect burglarized the victim’s unlocked vehicle.
Information
A victim of Information at NW 76 Street was reported on 07/28/2024. An adult male reported a dog fell into a canal and was unable to get out. Fire rescue responded and got the dog out.
Arrests
Clare, Charles Robert, 63, was arrested on a charge of Kidnap-False Imprisonment-Adult on 07/24/2024.
Meade, Messiah, 37, was arrested on a charge of Larceny Other Theft on 07/24/2024.
Carey, Imani Marlon, 26, was arrested on a charge of Battery Touch Or Strike on 07/25/2024.
Rubaine, Shamal Makimba, 35, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Battery Cause Bodily Harm Dating Violation on 07/27/2024.
Valcin, Jean F., 43, was arrested on a charge of Battery – Cause Bodily Harm – Domestic Violence on 07/29/2024.
