Monarch High School’s football success continued this summer with another tournament win and a commitment.
The Knights secured their second 7 x 7 flag football tournament victory by defeating Cardinal Gibbons, Stranahan, Tru Prep, and Pembroke Pines Charter. Additionally, Janaris Foster from Monarch committed to Wesleyan University in Connecticut.
“It feels great to commit and to be able to do something my family members couldn’t because they couldn’t stay consistent,” Foster said. “
Foster began playing football when he was six and will be playing his first year on the Monarch Football Team. He plays defensive back and is set to play for a defense that pitched four shutouts last year and allowed seven points or less in seven games en route to their second straight District Championship and first Regional Title in school history.
The Knights will play a preseason game against Coconut Creek High School on August 16 before opening up the regular season six days later against Peachtree.
