7 High School Student Athletes From Piper Compete in BCAA All-Star Game

Piper High School recently wrapped up the spring sports season, but had seven student-athletes take the field one more time in the BCAA All-Star Game.

Ladanian McKenzie, Lorenzo Stevenson, and Jimmy Engle were all chosen from the baseball team after McKenzie left the team with four home runs and 17 RBIs. He also made seven appearances on the mound and had an ERA of 1.45. Stevenson drove in four runs and had a double, while Engle pitched in nine games and had an ERA of 3.90. The Bengals finished the season with a record of 8-12-1.

Kezandean Dean, Sophonie Gedeon, and Makayla Magnus were picked from the flag football team. The Bengals won 13 games, including a postseason win over Coral Glades, before losing to Western High School. Mekhi Mclemore was chosen from the boys’ volleyball team following a season in which Piper beat Boyd H. Anderson and Plantation High School.
