Middle Schools throughout Coral Springs participated in the Northwest Area Schools XC Championships on Sept. 24 at Tradewind Parks in Coconut Creek.
Ramblewood Middle School
Ramblewood Middle School saw their boys finish in second place behind Westglades High School. Zachary Hartman finished second in the two-mile race, while Tyler Wright placed seventh, and Zavier Tamayo came in 30th. Christian Roberts, Jayden Cherfrere, Derrick Coke, Jimmy Denis, Samuel Hall, and Christopher Burrell all contributed to the team score. The girl’s team came in fifth, with Alyssa Wan recording the sixth-best time in the race. Samantha Hill finished next, followed by Ava Caraballo, Janaiya Butler , Jaliyah Sucarichi , Alaiya Agenor, and Kassidy Cherfrere.
Coral Springs Middle School
The Coral Springs Middle School team also had a team finish second with their girls team led by Antonella Dominguez Villanueva. She came in second, with Addison Sahlin finishing just behind her. Samantha DeGance, Brynniee Goodman, and Lauren Simbert all placed in the top 20, with Zenda Ford, Jodie Choquette, Arianna Sandoval, Isabel Hilmers, and Arianna Huriash ranking in the top 40. The boy’s team came in third place, with Brayden Basso leading the way and coming in 11th. Joseph Scalia and Jaiden Ross finished 14th and 16th, respectively. Aiden Coon, Colin Williams, Thomas Scheidt, Blake Burden, Darryl Casillas, Elijah Ladouceur, and Timothy Priester all completed their race.
Forest Glen Middle School
Forest Glen Middle School had their boys’ and girls’ teams place fourth. Ayden Edmond came in sixth in his race, and Rudy Potter came in tenth. They also had Mason Hernandez. Deven Gonzalez, Chris Cassidy, Dashio Marks, Adhari Lamey, Daniel Gonzalez, Ayden Ford, and Jonathon Flores competed. Allison Macarulay led the girls and placed 13th, followed by Julia De Souza Marshall, Sayla Thibault, Alexis Tardif, Zaydii Douglas, Allyssa Sears, Sylvia Majdoch, Leah Guerrier, and Isabella Boullosa.
Sawgrass Middle School
Sawgrass Middle School had nine runners from both teams. The boys, Azariah Israel, Massimo Bermudez, Joaquin Mello, and Glenton Murray, finished seventh. The girls’ team runners were Carmen Morel, Ayakamakeida Brissett, Sasha Mello, Mahavven Bhuiyan, and Ivanka Dao.
Coral Springs Charter
Coral Springs Charter did not run as a team but had Lily Ward place eighth for the girls, followed by Ava Higgs in 19th. Aaron Higgs finished 17th for the boys followed by Andrew Hanson, Roman Kozlowski, and Mateo Rincon.
