Man Arrested For Indecent Exposure at Sawgrass Mills Target After Alleged Lewd Acts in Front of Multiple Victims

A man was arrested after police say multiple victims claim he exposed himself and masturbated inside a Target store at Sawgrass Mills Mall.

According to Sunrise Police Department records, Zakhia Jani Wade, 21, of Deerfield Beach, is accused of masturbating in front of customers on numerous occasions. The initial report was made after Wade allegedly entered the Sawgrass Mills Target store, located at 12801 West Sunrise Boulevard, on July 21.

Surveillance footage shows Wade wandering through the home goods section for approximately 40 minutes before he is observed standing in an aisle on his cell phone with his right hand inside his sweatpants, appearing to touch his penis while staring at a woman in the same aisle.

After the woman left, detectives say Wade began masturbating inside his pants, and a minute later, another female customer walked past the outer aisle and noticed Wade. The report states that Wade then pulled his sweatpants down slightly, exposed his penis, and began masturbating toward her.

Records show the victim told officers that as she walked back past the aisle, she looked directly at Wade and saw him continuing to masturbate before quickly leaving the area. Footage shows Wade tucking himself back into his pants and leaving the store without making any purchases.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Target employees reported receiving two separate complaints from shoppers on July 21, describing Wade’s behavior. These additional complaints were not reported until July 23.

Further investigation revealed Wade was already on felony probation in Palm Beach County for a 2022 case involving possession of obscene material with minors. His probation officer reviewed Target’s surveillance video and confirmed that it showed Wade in the footage.

On August 12, officers arrested Wade at his residence. He was booked into the Broward Main Jail on charges of exposure of sexual organs and felony probation violation.

Court records show Wade is being held without bond.
