Man Faces Animal Cruelty Charges After He Allegedly Kicks and Stomps Girlfriend’s Dog

A man faces animal cruelty charges after surveillance video allegedly showed him repeatedly kicking and stomping his girlfriend’s French bulldog in Sunrise.

According to a Sunrise Police Department arrest warrant, officers responded to a home in the 11600 block of Northwest 37th Place on September 3 following a report of animal abuse.

Investigators obtained surveillance footage recorded on September 2 and 3 that allegedly showed Terell Dwayne Holloway, 41, of Lauderdale Lakes, abusing one of his girlfriend’s two French bulldogs.

In the first recording, police said Holloway kicked the dog approximately 10 times, grabbed it and threw it into a corner before spraying it with a water hose.

Footage recorded the following day allegedly showed Holloway kicking and stomping the dog approximately 24 times as it yelped and attempted to escape.

Police said Holloway then grabbed the dog by one hind leg, lifted it into the air, and kicked it with enough force that his shoe flew off.

Investigators spoke with Holloway’s girlfriend, who said he regularly visited her home to help care for her children and two dogs, Zeus and Coco. After reviewing the footage, she told police she believed Coco was the dog being abused.

“I had no idea he was doing that,” she told investigators, according to the warrant.

Sunrise Police took Holloway into custody Thursday on two counts of aggravated animal cruelty.

Holloway was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. His bond is set at $100,000, and a judge has ordered him not to possess or own any animals.
