Coconut Creek families will soon have an improved playground at the city’s recreation complex at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard.
During the October 24 meeting, the commission unanimously approved a resolution to execute an agreement with Top Line Recreation for a maximum of $543,293.
The work will include a complete overhaul of the playground, which will consist of various slides, climbing equipment, ramp systems, canopies, and swing sets. The new playground will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
According to city information, an essential goal for the new playground is to allow children to use their imaginations, role-play, create, and develop. Ramps and play pieces that engage all children to help them find common ground, learn cooperation, and have fun.
Commissioner Joshua Rydell was pleased that the new playground would be ADA-compliant and commended the Parks and Recreation Department for its work.
Mayor Sandra Welch said the playground would be a great addition to the city’s parks and was especially pleased it would be a place where all children can play.
