In a grand celebration, Best Buy Outlet opened its doors on June 28.
The 35,000-square-foot outlet, located at 3300 NW 62nd Avenue, offers discounted treasures from 10% to 70%.
The new store sells items purchased and returned to Best Buy because customers decided the product did not fit their needs. According to General Manager Ryan Davis, prices are discounted from 10 to 70 percent. The products available are considered open-box, pre-owned, or refurbished.
Margate Talk visited the store and noted an extensive array of washing machines, dryers, and refrigerators. There are also computer products, various smaller appliances, watches, and other items.
“The products we sell are high quality, but a customer may have decided to return an appliance because it wasn’t what they wanted or it may have a nick, so it had to be refurbished,” said Davis. “We are glad to be in Margate because it is centrally located, and there is a need for an outlet store.”
The Margate location is the only one in South Florida, making it a unique shopping destination. The only other outlet in Florida is in Orlando.
Commissioner Anthony Caggino said, “I am ecstatic that Best Buy is opening in Margate. People will be able to get good deals here. So what if a washing machine has a small scratch? It is still a good machine.”
Vice Mayor Arlene Schwartz welcomed the outlet and wished them success in their new venture.
