Steven Williams is the new principal of Bair Middle School in Sunrise.
He comes from Driftwood Middle School and is eager to lead the teachers and students at Bair.
“I want to make school fun, and I want the students to enjoy math and reading so much that they won’t even know they are working,” said Williams.
The primary mission of Williams is to educate students and help them reach their full potential. “I love children, and I expect teachers to love and care for children,” he said.
Williams is excited about the various academic programs that Bair offers students. The Cambridge program, an international student-centered program, offers high-level academics that can lead to a Bright Futures scholarship. Bair also offers a Montessori program.
The school is facing various challenges and earned a C grade last year. Williams believes the teachers and students can achieve an A this year. “I want to create a culture of success, and I believe we can be successful. We have good teachers here, and I will support them.”
Williams had the opportunity to greet families on July 23 when Bair hosted a shoe giveaway event, where approximately 2,000 pairs of shoes were distributed to families from the surrounding community.
