A woman has been charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into a room at Amarant Bank Arena and stealing commemorative Stanley Cup items intended for Florida Panthers players.
According to a Sunrise Police Department arrest report, Jade Russell Bicker, 25, of Fort Lauderdale, was arrested on January 15. The incident occurred on December 20 at Amaerant Bank during the Florida Panthers’ 2-1 win over the St. Louis Blues.
Records show Bicker entered an employee-restricted area after the game, bypassing an unmanned security checkpoint. Surveillance footage captured her walking through various secured zones before entering a conference room containing commemorative Stanley Cup trophies stored in Tiffany boxes and robes.
The items were gifts for team staff and players following the Florida Panthers’ Stanley Cup victory. Bicker allegedly took two trophies and two robes, exited the arena, put the items in her SUV, and fled without being discovered or apprehended.
Three days later, on December 23, records show a woman matching Bicker’s description returned the trophies to a parking lot attendant at the arena, claiming they had been mistakenly taken after a holiday party. The attendant handed the items to a supervisor, who returned them to the arena’s Vice President of Security Operations.
The robes, however, were not returned, and Bicker did not mention them during her interview with detectives.
An investigation led by the Criminal Investigations Section revealed surveillance footage, eyewitness accounts, and vehicle identification that linked Bicker to the crime. The footage showed Bicker’s vehicle with a distinctive sunflower-patterned spare tire cover and duck figurines on the dashboard, entering and exiting the arena parking garage during the incident.
Records show detectives traced the vehicle to Bicker through its license plate and matched her driver’s license photo with the woman seen on CCTV. Further evidence linked her to the scene, including images on her phone placing her in restricted areas of the arena.
When interviewed by detectives on January 13, Bicker admitted to taking the trophies, claiming she believed they were giveaways for fans. She said a staff member told her about the items distributed on the lower level.
Upon realizing her mistake after seeing names engraved on the trophies, Bicker returned the trophies – valued at $750 each – to the arena on December 23.
Bicker denied taking the robes despite CCTV footage showing her leaving with them.
Sunrise Police arrested Bicker on January 15 and transported her to the Broward County Main Jail. She was later released after posting a $3,500 bond.
