Golfers and animal lovers are teaming up to make a difference in the lives of shelter pets at an upcoming community charity golf tournament.
UFAR Animals Rescue Charity Golf Tournament takes place on Saturday, September 30 at the Oriole Golf Club at 8000 Margate Boulevard.
The UFAR tournament will utilize a 4-person scramble format, allowing individual golfers and groups to participate. Registration fees are $110 for individual golfers and $400 for a team of four. Registration fees will include a hamburger and hotdog dinner.
For those unable to attend or who wish to support the cause further, businesses and individuals may also help the UFAR cause by sponsoring a hole for $100.
The event starts at 12:30 p.m. with registration, allowing participants time to secure their spots and purchase raffle tickets for yet-to-be-announced prizes.
The golf tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m., ensuring all participants swing into action simultaneously.
According to UFAR Animals Rescue, the organization has continually ensured the welfare of over 300 pets under its care, and the upcoming charity golf event has been organized to gather the organization’s support.
UFAR says the tournament funds will help them continue providing shelter, sustenance, medical aid, and affection to these animals as they await placement in a loving forever home. UFAR also plans to utilize incoming donations to help offset the construction costs of a new sanctuary.
All donations to the cause are tax deductible, and proceeds generated from the tournament will directly benefit the animals.
