‘See You in Hell’: Sunrise Man Threatened Mass Shooting, Fentanyl Deaths of 7 People

A Sunrise man was arrested after police said he threatened a mass shooting and fentanyl deaths of seven people after being served divorce papers.

According to Sunrise Police Department arrest records, Scott Paul Reich, 44, was arrested September 22 and charged with making a written or electronic threat to kill or injure others, or conduct a mass shooting.

Police said Reich’s wife reported that he became angry after being served with a divorce petition at their Sunrise home earlier that day.

The victim told officers she was picking up the couple’s children from daycare and taking them to karate when she received a text message from Reich that read, “Dear KoochieCunt, This is my response to the petition. My plan is to blow the heads off of 7 people, including yours. And there has been a delay in that due to the unforeseen circumstances. Followed by a lethal dose of fentanyl. The spree will be wild and fast.”

The message ended with “SEE YOU IN HELL.”

Investigators said Reich then sent a numbered list naming six additional people, including the woman’s father, step-uncle, stepmother, aunt, and divorce attorney.

The woman stopped communicating with Reich and contacted police.

Police contacted Reich at his residence and said he acknowledged sending the messages from his cellphone.

Reich was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail without further incident.
