A Sunrise woman is accused of repeatedly stabbing a man in the stomach with a marijuana pipe during a domestic dispute, police said.
According to a Sunrise Police Department arrest report, Scarlett Marie Willard, 35, was taken into custody on May 16 and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Officers responded to the residence after receiving reports of a domestic violence incident involving two tenants who had allegedly gotten into an altercation.
Investigators said Willard admitted she and the victim got into an argument that turned physical inside a shared bedroom. Police said she told officers she grabbed a “small black sharp object used for smoking cannabis” to defend herself during the fight.
According to the report, Willard allegedly admitted to stabbing the man multiple times in the stomach with the smoking device. Officers reported observing blood and multiple cuts on the man’s stomach that were consistent with being stabbed with a jagged object.
Authorities said Willard later admitted she intentionally “poked” the victim multiple times with the object.
Willard was transported to the Broward Main Jail.
