Jahmani Chin-Suer {Piper Football}
Piper High School’s star defensive back Jahmani Chin-Suer has officially committed to Florida International University.
“It feels amazing,” Chin-Suer said. “I always put my mind into going to play college football. My decision was the coaching staff at FIU and some of the players; they made it feel like a great spot.”
Chin-Suer grew up in a family full of Florida Gators, saw plenty of football as a kid, and knew he wanted to play in college. His journey began when he was six, and he had an incredible season for the Bengals as a junior. Piper went 10-2 and advanced to the Regional Semifinals, while Chin-Suer recorded 34 tackles, three interceptions, and 25 passes defensed.
“Jahmani is a great football player and an even better person,” Head Coach Quentin Short said. “Very coachable, hard-working, and respectful young man. A great student who has a burning desire to be great. He is a physical corner who will tackle, but can always be left on an island.”
For college, Chin-Suer established a great relationship with former FIU graduate and NFL cornerback Anthony Gaitor. They continued to communicate following their offer as Chin-Suer hopes to improve his strength, speed, and leadership.
He will be playing for a college football team that won four games last season. Before that, he will play his final season with the Bengals and will open the season with a matchup against Peachtree High School on August 21.
