
Piper High School Football Team. {Bengal Broadcast}
Piper High School football began their season in the Broward County High School National Showcase, losing 31-6 against Peachtree High School on Thursday night.
The Bengals took an early 6-0 lead and had a chance to extend their lead, but were stopped inside the red zone. The Lions would go on to score two touchdowns to close the first half and go on to win by 25 after a strong second half.
The Bengals are coming off a season where they went 10-2, including a playoff win against Doral Academy. They ended up falling to West Broward and had their only other loss come against Monarch High School.
Piper will take on Coconut Creek High School in their next game on Friday, August 29, at 7 p.m. The Cougars will Miramar High School in their first game of the season and qualified for the playoffs despite recording only four wins last season. This will be the first matchup between these two teams since Coconut Creek won 41-0 in the opening game of the 2021 season.
