Former Monarch High School wide receiver had his breakout game for his new team on Sunday afternoon against the New York Jets.
Despite the Jets’ 24-17 win, Ridley had an impressive performance, recording both Tennessee Titans’ touchdowns. He finished the game with four catches and 77 yards while recording a 10-yard rushing touchdown.
Ridley was playing in only his second game with the Titans after catching seven passes for 50 yards during the team’s Week 1 win over the Altnla Falcons. Despite his strong performance, he was disappointed with the end result.
“We lost, man,” Ridley said. “I don’t want to lose. I want to win the game go home and chill, and be happy. But we have to go back to work and figure it out. I think we’re getting close, though. I’m upset, but I think we’re getting close.”
A 2015 graduate of Monarch, Ridley caught 41 passes for 1,131 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior before only being allowed to play in three games as a senior, where he caught 18 passes for 420 yards and four scores.
As one of the top recruits in the country, Ridley went on to play college football at Alabama and played three years under Nick Saban. Ridley caught 224 passes for 2,781 yards and scored 20 touchdowns while winning a pair of National Championships.
Ridley will be back in action in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, September 22 at 1 p.m.
