A Sunrise doctor has been arrested on charges of firearm possession and video voyeurism following a search warrant executed by the Sunrise Police Department.
According to a Sunrise Police Department arrest report, Dr. Daniel Llewellyn, the owner of Dr. Dan’s Family Eye Care, was arrested on March 13 following the execution of a search warrant at his office, located at 8451 West Oakland Park Boulevard.
The arrest stemmed from a felony warrant related to Video Voyeurism. However, specific details regarding that charge have not yet been released; details of Llewllyn’s charges stemming from possession of a firearm are mentioned.
During the execution of the search warrant, records show officers contacted Llewellyn outside his business before he entered. He was immediately taken into custody and informed of the search warrant for his office.
According to reports, as confirmed by the office manager, Llewellyn maintained a private office in the back of the business that was locked and inaccessible. While in custody, Llewellyn allegedly admitted to law enforcement that he had a pistol stored in his second desk drawer.
Officers subsequently discovered a black pistol, a separate magazine, five boxes of ammunition, a holster, a gun bag with miscellaneous cleaning and shooting equipment, and an additional box of ammo with multiple rounds.
Llewellyn was found to violate a protection order, which prohibits him from possessing or purchasing firearms. The order was served and remains in effect until February 18, 2026.
According to his office’s website, Dr. Daniel Llewellyn, 59, of Sunrise, graduated from Nova Southeastern University and has operated Dr. Dan’s Family Eye Care for many years.
Llewellyn was transported to the Broward County Main Jail and later released after posting a $20,000 bond. Court records show he has since pleaded not guilty to his alleged crimes.
