Coconut Creek Crime Update: Man Arrested For Possession Of A Machine Gun

This is a summary of Coconut Creek’s crime and arrests through September 2, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Coconut Creek Police Department to share updates with residents.

Death

A victim of Death – Suspicious/Unknown at Promenade at 4441 Lyons Road was reported on 08/27/2024.

Property-Lost/Stolen

A victim of Property-Lost/Stolen on N State Road 7 was reported on 08/27/2024.

A property damage victim on State Road 7 was reported on 08/28/2024. A city vehicle was involved in a vehicle crash.

Animal Bite

A victim of Animal Bite at Banyan Trails on Woodfield Drive was reported on 08/27/2024. An animal-to-animal dog bite was reported.

Theft

Pet Supplies Plus was the victim of Theft—Retail/Shoplifting at 4839 Coconut Creek Parkway, which was reported on 08/28/2024. An adult male stole dog food. The total estimated loss was $481.91.

Kohls was a victim of Theft—retail/Shoplifting at 6950 N State Road 7 on 08/29/2024. The total estimated loss was $369. A tabletop grill was stolen.

A victim of Theft—All Other at Walgreens on Coconut Creek Parkway was reported on 08/30/2024. The total estimated loss was $200. An unauthorized person picked up a narcotics prescription.

Walmart was the victim of Theft—Retail/Shoplifting at 5571 Hillsboro Blvd, reported on 08/28/2024. The total estimated loss was $34.

A victim of Theft—All Other at Cypress Lake on NW 49 Avenue was reported on 08/28/2024. The total estimated loss was $11.

Sexual Battery

A victim of Sexual Battery was reported on 08/28/2024. Sexual Battery occurred at the Hampton Inn.

Disturbance

A victim of Disturbance—Other at Wynmoor at 1001 Wynmoor Circle was reported on 08/28/2024. A resident caused a disturbance at the clubhouse.

Fraud

A victim of Fraud—Use Of Credit Card/ATM card at Walmart—was reported on 08/29/2024. The total estimated loss was $209.

Resist/Obstruct

A victim of Resist/Obstruct With Violence on W Atlantic Blvd was reported on 08/30/2024. A male fought officers attempting to conduct a narcotics investigation in Banyan Bay. The male was charged with Battery on LEO, Resisting With Violence, and Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana. $9,098 in US Currency was seized for forfeiture.

Suspicious Incident

On 08/31/2024, a suspicious Incident at Breckenridge East on NW 41 Terrace was reported, as was a possible “Swatting” Call.

Battery

A victim of Battery – Simple Touch/Strike at Centura Parc was reported on 09/01/2024.

Criminal Mischief

Coconut Creek was the victim of Criminal Mischief—Government at Cypress Park on NW 49 Terrace was reported on 09/01/2024. Vandalism and graffiti on the bathroom building were also reported.

Assault

A victim of Aggravated Assault at Club Caribe was reported on 09/01/2024.

Arrests

Banks, Nathaniel Antonio James, 23, was arrested on a Battery On Law Enforcement charge at 4203 W Atlantic Blvd on 08/30/2024.

Arcila, Alex, 44, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault W/ Deadly Weapon – Domestic Violence on 09/01/2024.

Cotto, Kimarni Dante, 24, was arrested on a charge of Criminal Mischief Over 1000 Dollars at 4808 Coconut Creek Parkway on 09/01/2024.

Matthews, Angelo Emmanuel, 37, was arrested on 08/28/2024 on a charge of Trespassing a Structure/Conveyance Occupied at 100 Lyons Road.
