Wanda and tiger are at Broward County Animal Care.
Two very different but equally lovable animals are waiting to meet their new families at Broward County Animal Care.
Meet Wanda (A2473409)
Wanda, a 4-year-old spayed female Dogo Argentino mix weighing 62 pounds, is a high-energy dog with a playful personality. Found as a stray in March, she was briefly adopted but returned due to her size and energetic nature.
Described as a “fun and bouncy” dog, Wanda still carries a puppy-like enthusiasm and enjoys running and playing. Shelter staff says she thrives on interaction and would do best with an active owner who can match her energy.
Despite her spirited nature, Wanda also has a softer side. She enjoys affection, soaking up pets and offering gentle kisses during calmer moments. Staff believes she may be deaf, as she does not respond to sound and must be touched to wake her.
Due to her size, strength, and possible hearing impairment, Wanda is best suited for a home with adults or older children and teens.
Meet Tiger (A2474685)
Tiger, a 6-year-old neutered male domestic shorthair cat weighing 10 pounds, is a recent arrival after being surrendered due to a landlord issue.
In contrast to Wanda’s high energy, Tiger is calm and affectionate. He enjoys being petted—especially at the base of his tail—and is described as a friendly companion who would fit well into a home looking for a mature, easygoing cat.
Tiger is already neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, allowing him to go home the same day he is adopted.
Both animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchipping. Adopters are only required to pay a $25 Broward County registration tag fee.
Broward County Animal Care, located at 2400 SW 42nd St. in Fort Lauderdale, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for adoptions.
