Sunrise to Honor Fallen Service Members at Memorial Day Ceremony

The City of Sunrise will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 25, to honor U.S. military personnel who lost their lives while serving the country.

The ceremony begins at 9 a.m. at the Sunrise Civic Center Theatre, located at 10610 West Oakland Park Boulevard.

The event will feature a wreath placement ceremony, bagpipes, distinguished speakers, and presentations by the Piper High School JROTC, the Sunrise Police Honor Guard, and the Sunrise Fire Rescue Honor Guard.

Residents are invited to attend the tribute honoring the sacrifices of members of the armed forces in defense of the nation’s freedom.

Sunrise administrative offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
