Residents can dive into summer at a free pool party hosted by the City of Sunrise at Welleby Pool this month.
The event will take place Saturday, May 30, from noon to 2 p.m. at Welleby Pool, 9605 W. Oakland Park Blvd., and is open exclusively to Sunrise residents. Organizers said the celebration will include music, light refreshments and family-friendly fun to mark the start of the summer swim season.
City officials reminded attendees that children younger than 13 must be accompanied by a parent in the pool area.
The city also announced expanded summer schedules for its aquatics facilities. Beginning May 2, Roarke Pool, Welleby Pool and Village Beach Club resumed weekend hours on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
Starting June 4, all three locations will transition to full summer operations and will be open seven days a week from noon to 5 p.m.
More information about the city’s aquatics facilities is available at City of Sunrise Aquatics Facilities or by calling 954-747-4636.
