Keith Thomas Flynn {BSO}
A Sunrise man was arrested after police say he posted violent social media videos threatening to kill Black, gay, and Jewish people and burn homes with families inside.
According to the booking report, Keith Thomas Flynn, 29, was taken into custody on January 28 and charged with intimidation by written or electronic threat to kill or injure.
The investigation began after Sunrise police received a Crime Stoppers tip regarding an Instagram account allegedly owned by Flynn. Police said the account contained videos and statements in which the user made explicit death threats and violence toward others.
In one video, Flynn is accused of making statements indicating he would shoot and kill people, break into homes, and burn houses down with families inside.
Detectives noted the posts included repeated threats directed at individuals and groups, along with statements suggesting an intent to carry out acts of violence. The post specifically targeted gay people, whom Flynn promised to “sneak into homes and kill.” In addition, Flynn allegedly used racial slurs throughout posts.
Investigators described the posts as erratic and threatening, stating that Flynn frequently uploaded videos in which he claimed he would harm others and that “no one believes” he would follow through.
In one video, Flynn is quoted in the report as saying, “I mean, if you’re gay, I’ll fucking shoot you. Like I will, I’ll kill you. I’ve been said that but no one believes it. But yeah, I will murder you. I will sneak into your house and kill you. I will burn down your home with your family in it. It is really that simple.”
Flynn also states “the rapture” is coming, and he will “slaughter every Jew.”
The affidavit also states that Flynn has a documented history of prior threats toward himself and others and has previously been the subject of law enforcement and mental health interventions. Detectives noted that his family expressed concern about his behavior and ongoing instability.
On January 28, detectives traveled to a residence in Weston to obtain a positive identification. Police said Flynn’s mother immediately identified him as the individual depicted in the Instagram videos.
Flynn was later interviewed by police and admitted to posting the threatening content. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail, where he is currently held without bond.
