Abigail Sinu, of Coconut Creek, has been selected to compete in the upcoming Miss Florida Teen pageant after winning the Miss Orange Blossom’s Teen title on April 5.
This victory marks her advancement in the Miss America system, which offers her a platform to represent her community and state.
Sinu, 17, is a junior at Florida Atlantic University High School, where she is pursuing a double concentration undergraduate degree in Medical Biology and Neuroscience & Behavior. Her aspirations include attending dental school and specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Her journey in the pageant circuit began at Coconut Creek Elementary and continued at Renaissance Charter School in Coral Springs.
Sinu’s community service initiative, “Smiles for All,” aims to address the dental crisis affecting 65 of Florida’s 67 counties, impacting over 8 million residents. The initiative focuses on providing dental care products and oral health education through partnerships with dental clinics, organizations, school clubs, and individuals to take control of their overall health.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Sinu co-founded NanoSense Technology, a startup that leverages nanotechnology to revolutionize medical technology. She has dedicated over 500 hours to community service and has held prominent leadership roles, including a two-year term as President of her school’s Student Government Association.
She currently resides in the Centura Parc community.
The Miss Florida Teen pageant will take place in Lakeland, Florida, from June 28-to 29.
“I am very excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to serve our community further,” she told Coconut Creek Talk.
