Marvin Cyriac of Monarch Football Joins Teammate in College

Monarch High School’s Marvin Cyriac is officially committed to playing college football at Tusculum University in Tennessee.

He becomes the second senior from Monarch to commit to Tusculum, joining teammate Jessie Fields after helping Monarch to their first District Championship since 2014. They also helped the Knights win in the Regional Quarterfinals over Boca Raton Community High School.

“I’m very excited to go work with Tusculum and compete for that starting job,” Cyriac said. “I’m proud of myself for coming this far even though a lot of people doubted me because of my height and being on the shorter side as a lineman, but I proved those people wrong. I know the job isn’t done. This is only the beginning.”

Cyriac began playing football when he was seven with the Pompano Eagles. This past season, he chimed on the offensive line protecting quarterback AJ Hairston and blocking for running back Willie Reed. Cyriac also played in the Georgia vs. Florida High School Showcase.

“I remember back at one of my old schools, one of my coaches told me that since it’s playoffs, I wasn’t going to play, and that hurt me, so I turned up the next year and started,” Cryiac added.

Tusculum went 8-3 last year and will open up their season in the fall against Kennesaw State.
