J.P. Taravella is back with four varsity teams looking to make noise before the start of the postseason.
Boys basketball came into the week with a record of 10-2 but dropped games against Fort Lauderdale and Cypress Bay High School by a combined six points. However, they beat Chaminade-Madonna High School 62-44 behind 24 points from Andre Demoya and will play two more games this week, including one against Coral Glades on Tuesday, January 16, at 7:30 p.m.
Girls basketball fell in their first game of 2024, losing 42-14 against Fort Lauderdale High School. The Trojans are now 4-3 this year and will play Coral Glades on Tuesday, January 16 at 6 p.m. The Jaguars are winless in nine games this year.
On the field, the boys soccer team fell 4-0 against McArthur High School and are 1-5-2 this year. Their only victory came against Cardinal Gibbons High School, and they will play Piper in their next matchup on Tuesday, January 16, at 4 p.m. before closing the regular season out against Fort Lauderdale High School.
J.P. Taravella’s girls soccer team picked up their second win of the season on Friday against McArthur High School. They previously fell in their game against Coral Springs High School earlier in the week and have their final home game against Piper on January 16 at 4 p.m.
