Coral Glades Basketball. {Toro Hoops}
The winter season may be over, but the city of Coral Springs produced some exciting moments, with over a dozen of the players selected for the All-County Team.
Tahir Bond led the Coral Glades boys basketball and was selected to the All-County First Team. The senior averaged 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, and 2.5 steals per game. Dylan Burrowes and Anthony Valdes were honorable mentions for a team that went 14-14. Matthew Curprew-Elsy was selected to the First team after being named Big-8 Most Valuable Player from Coral Springs High School. He averaged 13 points, 10.9 rebounds, two assists, and 0.8 blocks per game, with Romae Brown, Walter Pierre-Louis, and James Saulsby named Honorable Mentions. Camden Fearon, Andres Demoya and James Ganley were Honorable mentions from J.P. Taravella.
Rhael Sayers of Coral Springs High School was selected to the First Team. She averaged 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists and scored her 1,000th point early in the season from a team that went 15-7. Kaylee Gonzalez, Andrea Orjuela, and Fabiana Villegas Farias were also honorable mentions, along with Maliea Coker, Ariana Irizarry, and Jayde Reilly from Coral Springs Charter
In soccer, Jordan Alverez, Jayden Lloyd, and Santiago Sanchez were Honorable Mentions from Coral Glades. Jorge Flores, Ethan Perez, and David Puello were recognized from Coral Springs High School, and Elijah McDonald from Coral Springs Charter. The girls featured Honorable Mentions with Kaylee Gonzalez, Andrea Orjuela, and Fabiana Villegas Farias from Coral Springs High School. Maliea Coker, Ariana Irizarry, and Jayde Reilly were recognized for Coral Springs Charter, and Mia Marshall-Hewitt from J.P. Taravella.
Coral Springs Charter wrestling also dominated the All-County Team, with Peter Mocco getting picked to the First Team after going 17-0 and winning a State Championship. Preston Lindsay was also picked to the Second Team and made it to the State Championship.
