On Wednesday, Coral Springs commissioners delayed their decision on a proposal that could oust businesses, boat owners, and recreational vehicle owners from a local parking lot.
The lot owner’s plan would transform a 4.88-acre property at 12101 Northwest 42nd St. in Coral Springs’ corporate park into a storage area for a single national tenant to store its truck trailers. Currently, the site is used by 150 tenants to park their commercial vehicles, boats, and RVs. According to the property owner, 31 Coral Springs residents and businesses are among the tenants.
Multiple commissioners expressed concerns over displacing city business owners and residents from the lot. Instead of voting on the proposed change, commissioners voted to table the discussion until their May 15 meeting.
The commission is weighing the proposal amid a significant shortage of parking spots for commercial vehicles, boats, and RVs in the city.
City staffers are expected to survey businesses in the city’s corporate park to determine how many surplus parking spots might be available for leasing.

I’m curious to hear what other residents have to say about this property going from a small business hub to a national freight transit hub. The impacts like increased semi truck traffic in the city.
