Coral Springs Charter hosted their first meet of the season on December 7 and welcomed schools from throughout Broward County.
The Panthers came in fourth place in their division, while J.P. Taravella came in second. They were joined by Hollywood Hills, Cardinal Newman, St. Andrew’s, and Strachan High School, while Preston Lindsay led the way, going 6-0. He had three techs, two pins, and a forfeit, while Alex Pagliai and Andrea Ridge won all five matches.
Preston Lindsay went 6-0, and Elijah Perez was 5-1 with two pins, a decision, and two forfeits. As a team, Coral Springs Charter beat St. Andrew’s 53=30 and St. Srnahan High School 75-12. They lost against Cardinal Newman, Hollywood Hills, and J.P. Taravella.
“I’m really proud of the team’s performance,” Head Coach Eric Perez said. “I am happy with the way Preston and Elijah performed. They showed the younger guys what’s possible through hard work and perseverance.”
The Trojans beat St. Andrews 45-18, Coral Springs Charter 47-26, Stranahan 66-6, and Cardinal Newman 41-27. Their only loss came against Hollywood Hills High School. This year, Jacob Rosen, Victor Dixon, and Andrew Hines are their top wrestlers. Both CSC and JPT will continue their regular season and gear up for the postseason when they look to make a run to the State Championship.
