The City of Coconut Creek Parks and Recreation Department has announced the return of its annual 5K Butterfly Run.
Held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Tradewinds Park, 3600 West Sample Road. The event invites runners of all ages to enjoy a USA Track & Field certified race that combines community, fitness, and fun, supporting a healthy lifestyle.
The race opens for check-in at 5:30 a.m. and begins promptly at 7:00 a.m., welcoming competitive runners and casual participants.
The first 600 registrants will receive a Sport-Tek long-sleeve shirt, and the first 600 finishers will earn a commemorative finisher medal.
Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each age category, the top three overall finishers, and Masters, Grand Masters, and top Coconut Creek resident finishers.
Race highlights include DJ music, sponsor stations with giveaways, and a grab-and-go breakfast available to participants after the race.
According to the city, butterfly-themed attire is encouraged, and friends and family are welcome to cheer on the runners, but all attendees must arrive before the park’s entry cutoff at 6:50 a.m.
While all ages are invited to join, participants with walkers and strollers are asked to position themselves at the end of the race pack for safety. Pets are not permitted on the course.
Registration is open until full capacity or through February 1. Fees are set at $30 for participants 18 and older and $15 for those 17 and younger.
Interested runners can secure their spot online at ButterflyRun.com.
