Coral Springs Charter’s Alexandra Bruno continues her historic high school career by winning another District Championship in track and field in the shot put and discus.
CSC competed against King’s Academy, North Broward Prep, FAU High, Glades Central, St. Andrew’s, Dreyfoos, Inlet Grove, Somerset Canyons, and Cardinal Newman.
The girls’ team finished fifth overall, with Kendall Parrott and Hannah Manger coming in second in the 3200 meters and pole vault, respectively. Bruno, who is also signed to lay college volleyball next year at Rollins College, also placed third in the javelin.
Arianna Gibbs and a pair of relay teams featuring Reagan Pinkston, Pharrah Wright-Foster, Jordin Sawyer, Anna Mariano and Ashlee Diaz, Abigail Foster, Kendall Parrott, and Mackenzie Maniscalco placed fourth. Abigail Foster, Ashlee Diaz, Arianna Gibbs, Ashlee Diaz, and Trinity Dorvil all recorded points.
The boy’s top performers were Eli Groothuis, placing second in the pole vault, and Michael Snow finishing second in the discus. Jan-Paul Londono did well, coming in third in the 110 hurdles along with the relay team of Kevaun Hinckson, Beylian Dejesus, Snow, and Elijah Mcdonald. Ramon Kwan and Michael Chin finished in the top five, along with the 4 x 800 relay team. Mcdonald, Snow, Edge Rolle, Chase Powell, Laroda, and the 4 x 400 relay team provided points.
The CSC Middle School also competed in the Calvary Christian FtL MS Finale along with Calvary Christian (FtL), Pine Crest Middle School, Somerset Academy MS (PP), NSU University, Doral Academy, Somerset Prep (NL), Highlands Christian and Broward Junior Academy. The boys finished fifth, with Justus Delpino and Austin Stewart coming in second. Their 4 x 100 relay team placed third with Diaz, Jacob Montealegro, Justus Delpino, and Stone Rolle. At the same time, Tommy Foster also ran well to finish third in the 3200 meters, and Lucas Dagostinos came in fourth in the 400 meters.
The girls placed sixth, highlighted by Mia Collela coming in fourth in the 1600 meters. Holly O’Connor and Sydney McDougall followed her, Hayley Lockowitz came in fifth in the 800 meters, and the 4 x 400 relay team finished fourth with Collela, O’Connor, McDougall, and Alicia Makovsky.
