
Piper High School Football. {Bengal Broadcast}
Piper High School continued its football season with a pair of games to begin September.
The The Bengals lost 19-13 against McArthur High School on September 4 before responding with a dominant 45-22 win over Charles W. Flanagan High School on Thursday.
Against McArthur, Piper was held scoreless in the first half and trailed 13-0 before finding the end zone in both the third and fourth quarters. However, McArthur added a touchdown in the fourth to hold on for the six-point victory.
Jeffrey Louis and Robert Kahn each scored rushing touchdowns, while Chacon Williams added a touchdown reception from Maksim Steuber. Johnathan Rivers provided two of the biggest plays of the game on special teams, returning a kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown and a punt 38 yards for another score.
Jonah Julien made an impact defensively with an 85-yard fumble return for a touchdown and also caught a two-point conversion. Immanuel Reid led Piper’s pass rush with two sacks, while Khalil Jefferson and Jeremiah Davis each recorded one.
Next, Piper will play Monarch High School on Friday, September 18, at 7 p.m. The Knights are 2-1 this season following wins over Miramar and Cardinal Gibbons High School. Monarch also won 41-32 in their lone matchup last season.
