Piper High School continues its fall sports season with multiple teams in action as teams reach the midway point of the regular season.
Coming off their first win of the season a week ago, the Piper High School football team lost against Plantation High School 25-12 on Friday. Alex Gammage had two interceptions for Piper, while Jahmani Chin-Suer had one. The Bengals are 1-3 this year and will play Blanche Ely High School in their next game on Saturday, September 20, at 5:30 p.m. The Tigers are 2-1 this year, but lost 47-0 in their last game against Atlantic High School.
The volleyball team has now won three straight and beat Coconut Creek High School 25-10, 25-5, 25-18. They previously had a win over Hollywood Hills High School and followed that up with wins against Fort Lauderdale High School in five sets and McArthur High School in three sets.
Next, Piper will play South Broward High School on Wednesday, September 24, at 6 p.m. The Bulldogs are 5-0 this year and have dropped only two sets all year, but lost in their only meeting with the Bengals a season ago.
The cross country team competed in their first race on Thursday at Markham Park. Aaron Haddaway led the way for Piper, finishing 14th with a time of 21:01.9. Wesley Atkins came in 26th, followed by Elijah Toussaint.
