Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy in Tamarac unveiled a state-of-the-art media lab on Wednesday.
The lab showcases state-of-the-art virtual reality technology and modern collaborative spaces. This is all part of a $500,000 grant aimed at improving student learning through immersive experiences.
The refreshed facility, equipped with high-tech tools like virtual reality headsets, is part of a significant investment to enhance student learning through immersive experiences.
Representatives from the Orange Bowl Committee, College Football Playoff Foundation, and Broward Education Foundation joined Broward County School Board members, Broward County Public Schools Superintendent, and district leadership for the media lab reveal.
The project is the first step in a five-year initiative funded by a $500,000 grant from the College Football Playoff Foundation and Orange Bowl Committee. The initiative will support upgrades at ten district schools—which have yet to be selected.

The lab now features new seating, collaborative workspaces, and 48 Meta Quest virtual reality headsets with charging and sanitizing stations. The virtual reality technology will enable students to explore environments like outer space, historical events, and the impact of climate change, providing hands-on, experiential learning.
