Following a customer complaint, a Sunrise McDonald’s restaurant was ordered to temporarily shut down after a health inspection revealed multiple sanitation violations.
According to a June 2 inspection report filed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, a review of the complaints filed by a customer of the McDonald’s located at 10910 West Oakland Park Boulevard uncovered five violations that led to the closure.
Among the violations noted by inspectors was the presence of live, small flying insects throughout various parts of the restaurant. In addition to the live insects, an accumulation of dead flies was discovered stuck to fly traps inside the restaurant.
The inspection report also cited an overflowing dumpster that was overfilled and unable to be closed entirely, posing a potential attraction for additional pests. Inside the restaurant, the men’s restroom was flagged for cleanliness issues, with inspectors describing the interior of one urinal as being covered with multiple small brown debris.
Due to the combination of their findings, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation ordered the restaurant to shut down operations until the violations could be addressed.
