
Aishalin Kinyua {Piper Vollleyball}
The Piper High School girls’ volleyball team is underway, winning three of their first six matches.
The Bengals fell 25-23, 25-18, 25-14 despite a strong performance from Aishalin Kinyua and Isabella Delgado. They each had six kills, while Kinyua had six assists, and Brooke Contain had a block. Audrianna Cavet also led the team with 10 digs and 16 assists.
Piper would go on to dominate Blanche Ely High School, winning 25-2, 25-8, 25-11. Jayan De finished with eight kills, with Auria Paul and Delgado recording seven. She also had 16 aces, while Kinyua added six more digs.
However, they would fall in their third match 25-22, 25-14, 25-22 against Somerset Academy, with De leading in kills. They would then fall in five sets on Monday against Nova High School, 21-25, 17-25, 25-23, 25-22, 10-15, before wins against Hallandale and Coral Glades.
Next, Piper will play Everglades High School on Monday, September 2, at 6 p.m. The Gators are 2-2 this year, sweeping Coral Glades and Charles W. Flanagan, but losing to Cooper City and West Broward High School in four sets.
