Man Places Video Camera Under Woman’s Dress at Family Dollar
By Jim Donnelly
The Broward Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man after he placed a video camera under the dress of a customer in line at a Family Dollar store.
Around 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, a woman was shopping at Family Dollar at 8076 W. McNab Road in North Lauderdale when she noticed a man following her around the store.
She told detectives the man was wearing a white t-shirt wrapped around his head and that she believed he was taking photos and video of her without her permission and asked him to stop once she realized what he was doing.
Investigators said the victim then completed her shopping and stood in line to pay for her items when Lewis Phillips, 27, of Tamarac, walked up behind her and placed a cell phone directly underneath her dress.
According to BSO, the victim tried to grab the phone from Phillips’ hand, and the two struggled for the device. The white t-shirt wrapped around the subject’s head fell off during the scuffle, and he eventually retrieved his phone and walked out of the store.
Detectives believe Phillips used the device to videotape or photograph under her dress. The entire incident was captured on the store’s security system.
Anyone with information on Phillips’ whereabouts is asked to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office North Lauderdale District Detective Nezar Hamze at 954-722-5800 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch App.
