The City of Tamarac invites the community to an evening of freedom and culture at the Juneteenth Celebration.
The event takes place on Saturday, June 15, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and features The Old Skool Gang, known for its renditions of classic hits. Live music will be provided throughout the night.
Old Skool Gang’s full band delivers renditions of Motown hits and similar genres. Their repertoire includes classic songs from renowned artists such as The Temptations, The O’Jays, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Teddy Pendergrass, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, The Spinners, The Manhattans, Al Green, The Impressions, LeVert, and more.
In addition to live music, the event will showcase a variety of cultural performances that highlight the Tamarac community’s rich heritage and diversity.
Juneteenth, also called Freedom Day, goes back to June 19, 1865, when the announcement of the Emancipation Proclamation came to Galveston, Texas, freeing thousands of enslaved men, women, and children.
