Former J.P. Taravella soccer star Zachary Zub posted a historic season at Delaware Valley University.
After playing in four games as a freshman, Zub took on a major role this past season, appearing in 18 games and making four starts. He scored two goals, including the game-winner on a header against nationally ranked Lebanon Valley.
Zub scored his first career goal in college against Valley Forge, helping his team win a program-record nine games. He said it is extremely special to have been a part of the best run in school history.
“It was a great feeling to come through for my teammates, especially the seniors at that moment, and to know that we were capable of competing at that level,” Zub said. “We’ve set a new standard for ourselves and are excited to build on it moving forward.”
The Coral Springs native began playing soccer when he was nine and travel soccer five years later. He started with Kaptiva Soccer Academy and has played with Shulz Academy for the last three years. He also played on the J.P. Taravella soccer team.
In high school, Zub was also the 2022 United States Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete of the Year for displaying courage, poise, self-confidence, and leadership as a varsity athlete. He was also selected for the MAC Honor Roll and is currently majoring in Business Administration.
