Luis Guillorme records walk-off hit for the New York Mets
By: Matt Rothman
There have been very few bright spots for the New York Mets this season, but former Coral Springs Charter infielder Luis Guillorme recorded his first career walk-off hit in their win on Sunday.
After coming in as a pinch hitter in extra innings, Guillorme, who played one year with the Panthers in 2013, doubled down the first base line to score Brett Baty for the winning run for the Mets’ 43rd win of the season. Guillorme has played on the major league roster for most of the 2023 season and is batting .250 with a home run and nine RBIs.
Guillorme came in as a defensive replacement in the team’s win on Tuesday and will be in action on Wednesday for game two of their three-game series against the Chicago White Sox.
