A man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly sending threatening text messages to his ex-girlfriend, confronting her new boyfriend in person, and discharging a firearm outside her residence.
On October 23, the Coral Springs Police Department responded to a domestic dispute involving shots fired inside an apartment complex located near the 12300 block of West Sample Road.
According to CSPD records, officers arrived after midnight, immediately secured the area, and interviewed the victims.
The victim reportedly told officers that earlier in the day, Pierre Sanon, 23, of Miami Beach, the father of her child, had sent her multiple threatening text messages and, after several hours of no response, allegedly arrived at the victim’s residence, banging on her door.
According to witnesses, the victim’s new boyfriend answered the door, leading to a heated verbal exchange between the two men. The argument escalated when Sanon punched and shattered the glass of an emergency fire extinguisher container mounted to the wall.
CSPD reports show that upon Sanon shattering the glass, the victim’s boyfriend said he reached for a concealed weapon from his waistband. In response, Sanon allegedly drew his pistol and fired a single round into the air, away from bystanders.
Following the gunshot, the victim immediately called 911, and Sanon fled deeper into the apartment complex before police arrived.
Records show Sanon returned to the scene while officers were interviewing witnesses, and police took him into custody without further incident.
During questioning, Sanon admitted to sending threatening text messages earlier in the day, which included a photograph of the firearm used in the incident.
One text message read, “Better talk to me now cuz if I come now ima blow it.” Another message, referring to the victim’s location, warned, “Don’t make me pull up so you better answer.”
During the argument, Sanon also confessed to breaking the fire extinguisher glass, resulting in a small cut on his hand, as well as brandishing the firearm and discharging a single round.
Sanon was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
