UPDATE: The parade has been canceled due to rain
By Ryan Yousefi
A Coral Springs holiday tradition returns this week.
The city is set to host its annual Holiday Parade this Wednesday, December 13, at 7 p.m. As is tradition, the parade will run along Sample Road and feature local organizations’ floats, following this year’s theme, “Magical Memories: A Ride Down Memory Lane.”
Before the parade, the Coral Springs Holiday Mile Run welcomes runners of all ages along the route. Families are encouraged to bring their seating—lawn chairs and blankets—to enjoy the event.
A grand entrance for Santa and Mrs. Claus is a significant highlight of the parade, symbolizing a Coral Springs tradition as they arrive in a fire truck.
Handicap seating is available at specific locations, and free parking, including limited handicap spaces, is offered at the City Hall garage.
For those unable to attend in person, the Holiday Parade will be streamed live on CoralSprings.gov/citytv and viewed on Bluestream Ch.25 and Ch.99 on U-verse.
Both attendees and residents should be aware of road closures starting at 5 p.m., including Sample Road, west of University Drive and east of NW 110th Avenue, and Coral Springs Drive, north of Royal Palm Boulevard and south of NW 37th Street.
Only pedestrian traffic will be allowed, and golf carts are prohibited. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit along Sample Road. There will be handicapped seating at the intersection of Sample Road and Coral Hills. Local restaurants may offer seating, according to the city.
Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes, and pedestrian traffic is encouraged. Private golf carts are prohibited.
