Brandon Meyers of J.P. Taravella capped off an incredible high school bowling career and was selected as the Broward County Bowler of the Year.
Meyers, who is homeschooled and practices at Bowlero Tamarac, has only bowled competitively for a year and a half after picking up the sport while on vacation in Colorado. This season, he recorded a perfect game with a 300 before winning the District Championship with a 726 high series, 46 more points than second place.
Meyers thanks his coach, mentors, family, and friends for helping him get to this point.
“I am very grateful and thankful to God for giving me the gifts and abilities to win the title,” Meyers said. “I am also thankful for Coach Greg and my other coaches, mentors, family, and friends for helping me and guiding me throughout the year. I enjoyed every second of the season and made some great memories and friends.”
Meyers hopes to bowl in college but is undecided on where he would like to add. Meyers also wants to improve the game’s physical and mental aspects to make it on the PBA National Tour potentially.
JPT finished 11th place as a team in the State Qualifier and the third round of the Baker Tournament, while Mason was named Coach of the Year.
