On October 8, the Broward County School Board approved several key collective bargaining agreements with the Broward Teachers Union (BTU) and the Federation of Public Employees (FOPE) during a meeting on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
These agreements include salary increases and changes to work calendars for the 2023-2024 school year.
The agreements impact Education Support Professionals (ESP), Technical Support Professionals (TSP), and members of the Federation of Public Employees (FOPE). All will receive a 2.5% salary increase retroactive to July 1, 2023.
In addition to the 2.5% salary raise, ESPs will see a notable adjustment to their work calendar. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, ESP employees will begin working one day earlier, extending the total annual work calendar to 189 days.
Like the ESPs, Technical Support Professionals will receive a 2.5% raise retroactively to July 1, 2023. Their work schedules were not changed.
“I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone involved in the negotiation process, our School Board members for their support and, most importantly, our employees for their hard work and commitment to our School District,” said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn.
FOPE members will also benefit from the same 2.5% salary boost, which is retroactive.
