Brian Schlang, the Governing Board Chair of Imagine School at Broward, has been recognized by the Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools with the 2024 Champion for Charter Schools Board Member Award.
This prestigious award highlights Schlang’s significant contributions and dedication to the charter school community over the past decade.
Schlang, who lived in Coral Springs for ten years before residing in Parkland for the past three said he was honored to receive the 2024 Champion Charter School Governing Board Member Award.
“Although I received the award, it belongs to the entire board as well as the Imagine School at Broward staff and teachers,” he told Coral Springs Talk. “I would not have received this award without their hard work, support, and dedication.”
Faculty, staff, and students have recognized Schlang as being instrumental in spearheading numerous educational initiatives and policies that have benefited not only Imagine School at Broward but charter schools throughout the state.
Through Schlang’s expertise in financial management, his work has been particularly impactful in allowing for critical infrastructure developments at Imagine Broward, including constructing a new gymnasium and a 12-classroom extension for middle school students.
In addition to his role at Imagine Broward, Schlang is the president of BAS CPA PLLC. He holds prominent positions in several civic organizations, including the Leadership Broward Foundation and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance.
His connection to the school is deepened by his three children, who are all attendees, giving him even more motivation to educate children in the local community better.
“The best part of being a board member is the joy of giving back to the Broward community by having a positive impact on children’s education.”
