Dear Neighbors
Welcome to Springtime! A wonderful time when the world is starting to bloom again, and we focus on enjoying time outside and our health!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the 2024 Furever Friends Pet Expo! Eight pet rescues were on-site along with 40 vendors to help keep our furbabies and people stay healthy, happy and in-style! We are so happy to share that furbabies were able to find their furever home by attending this event! We hope you will mark your calendars for February 22, 2025, for next year’s Furever Friends Pet Expo, but happy to connect you to these amazing rescues and vendors in the interim. Just let me know!
Sometimes, we all need a little help. The City of Tamarac’s Residential Assistance Program is funded by ARPA funds and designed to aid residents facing financial challenges with covering mortgage, rent, rent hikes and overdue HOA/condo fees. Please visit www.Tamarac.org/Housing for additional information or contact the City’s Housing Division (954-597-3549) if you have any questions. The programs will remain open until funds are exhausted.
Excited to announce that the NW 77th Street Swale Drainage and Sidewalk Improvement Project is in its final stages! No more orange cones to line the swale, people parking on the grass and no more localized flooding! The project included a new drainage system, new 5-foot wide concrete sidewalks, approximately 1200 linear feet of curbing and gutters, and repaving part of NW 77th. Thank you for your patience during this project!
And if you haven’t heard the news yet, I am so excited to share that Tamarac Fire Rescue is staying right where it belongs! At last month’s Commission Workshop, I’m proud to state that the Commission unanimously agreed to stop the privatization investigation process! Woo-hoo! Thank you for your continuous support of our Tamarac Fire Rescue and making your voices clearly heard!
Now, are you ready to mark your calendar for this month’s fun?

- Are you familiar with Global Entry? It is also known as the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler Program. The program allows vetted and approved applicants expedited clearance upon arrival from international and domestic travel in the United States. Skip the 6-12 months process for completion. If the City receives 50 or more “pre-approved applications,” CBP will host a Mobile Enrollment Center right here in the City, expediting this process greatly! If you have been wanting to apply to this program, now is your chance!
- Click on the link: https://ttp.dhs.gov. Choose Global Entry to Get Started. Log in or Create an Account. Continue with your Global Entry Application. Once completed, notify the City Clerk’s Office (CCK) of your application number(s). CCK will coordinate the second step in the application process and schedule a date for the mobile enrollment event. For any questions, please contact CCK Dillon at 954-597-3505 or stop by City Clerk’s Office and pick up a brochure. Please note: the scheduling is for the first 200 pre-approved applications received.
Happy Eid al-Fitr and Passover to all who celebrate!
Warm regards,
️ Michelle
